Mimi and Lulu: Three Sweet Stories, One Forever Friendship by Charise Mericle Harper

This cute book is for the Kindergarten and under crowd. It has very simple stories, that resemble the Mo Willems "Elephant and Piggie" books.

To give you an idea of what they are like, in the first story-- there are three in this book-- Mimi declares that she likes Pink! Pink skirts, socks, shoes, bows... and especially pink boas.

Lulu looks at her own clothes and replies that her favorite color is purple. "Well," says Mimi, "I only like pink things." Mimi then says that that is too bad. Why? "Because purple tastes delicious." Mimi then whips out a huge cupcake with purple icing.

The story resolves with the two friends sharing the treat and agreeing that purple does tastes good.

Talking Points :::

The artwork is colorful and sweet. The stories are very simple and have a basic charm that will appeal to small fry. If you click on the cover you'll go to Amazon's page for this book where there is a Look Inside available.
