BATTLE BUNNY is a hysterically cute new book from Jon Scieszka.  I know it's boy-friendly because the moment my son saw it, he grabbed it up and read it through-- and then re-read it the moment he was done.

He and I then sat down and read it together so we could enjoy the humor, and so we could scour the drawings for tidbits we might have missed the first few times though.

THE PREMISE of the the story is that Gran-Gran saw a cute little bunny book at a garage sale which she bought because it reminded her of her sweet grandson, Alexander.  This was especially good idea because it was a birthday bunny book, and Alexander was about to have his birthday.

OKAY, not so good, because Alexander is not a baby anymore and the book was babyish.  BUT, Alexander fixed that.  Clever boy that he is, he rewrote the story, and redid the artwork to change BIRTHDAY BUNNY to BATTLE BUNNY!

A cute book that fans of CAPTAIN UNDERPANTS might enjoy.
