RED KNIT CAP GIRL TO THE RESCUE begins with Girl and bunny playing with their friends.  They are making kites and boats and telescopes out of newspaper. When they see an SOS they head to sea to find out what's wrong.  Simple put they rescue an adorable bear cub and take him back to his mother.

I like this book.  It has the same charming artwork as the first book, but the story is a lot more appealing, especially when we get to see the delight of the cub and his/her mother when they are reunited.

And I thought it was absolutely charming to see all of the 'toy' items that were made out newspaper, used in the rescue. Does this mean that they made bigger boats and kites from newspaper?  Or are we just entering Red Knit Cap Girl's make believe world?

Very charming and very soothing.  RED KNIT CAP GIRL TO THE RESCUE could be read anytime of day; even at bedtime.

What child doesn't want to come to rescue.
