DISGUSTING JOBS is part of Connie Colwell Miller's Disgusting series. These little 32 page books discuss disgusting foods, animals, bugs, plants and places, as well as jobs.
Ms. Miller uses a facetious Gross-O-Meter to keep up interest. So that jobs run from 'Sort of Disgusting' to REALLY Disgusting.
I like these little books because they are short, simple reads that can really appeal to reluctant readers. And I definitely consider them boy-friendly; basically because most of the boys I know love gross stuff.

I had to laugh at the first 'job'. It's changing diapers and cleaning up puke. The author assigns this horrid job to Day Care workers; but we parents know that's part of our jobs too.
Unlike some of the other books in this series, this one does have some grossness that might not be appropriate for sensitive or younger readers. There's a dead deer and a dead rat in two of the photos; not to mention the dead vermin on the cover. And one of the jobs is cleaning up after a murder. But generally speaking, the book is not scary or particularly revolting.

Good kid-friendly book. This one might appeal to children that like non-fiction.
