If you have a little worrier in the house, you might want to take a look at IS A WORRY WORRYING YOU?

This book talks about worrying in kid-friendly terms, giving examples of what worrying can look like... and BETTER YET, giving some strategies for dealing with those darn old worries.

The introductory example is a delightfully silly problem:  what to do you do when a 100 elephants arrive for tea and don't have any teabags.  The solution is to serve lemonade.

The authors define types of worrying.  Where worries can come from, and how they can make us feel.
Don't bother looking for a
worry because you'll never
find it.  It is invisible.  But it
seems very real.
And then they give possible solutions.  I think this is a good approach that can open up discussions, and help us adults, help our little ones deal with problems they can't quite articulate yet.

My own children aren't particularly worriers, but they have, in the past, had nightmares, and the strategy we used is very close to the one used in this book.  We essentially relax for a moment and then come up with our own 'clever solutions' to whatever dilemma was present in the bad dream.

Definitely worth a look.
