GREAT New Books

I'm putting this list together rather quickly because I am running so far behind this Christmas.  I don't have time to write long reviews -- I will -- but these are great new books that you should check out.

THE HUEYS IN THE NEW SWEATER is a wonderful.  I read it with my 10 year old and we just howled.  The artwork is just adorable and story gave Dave something to think about.

For younger readers.  This is the first book in a series.

Simple artwork is at the heart of this warm story which features very few words.  The essence of the theme is that it is the small things that can make life special; and that you sometimes have to focus to discover these things.

Young readers will like the bright, kid-friendly artwork.  You'll have to share your joy in the 'little things' for children to get the most of the story.

This is a beautiful book about different kinds of bravery.  One girl is escaping slavery.  Another helps her continue north.

UNSPOKEN is wordless, so it might be up to you to add the background information for slavery and the Civil War.
