ASH BATTLES HIS RIVALS! is a fun book that certainly will appeal to young Pokémon fans.  The focus is on the people Ash met in the Sinnoh region and, of course, the battles that took place there.  Here's the table of contents to give you an idea of who and what is covered.

And below is a sample page.  As you can see there is a lot of text per page, and yet the font is large.  What you should know is that regardless of the    tag,  this book is at the 5th Grade reading level.  (see reading information below)

Here's a sample of an alternative type of page.  One that features each contestant's Pokémon.

What I liked about this book is that it appeals to boys -- especially boys (and girls) that have a difficult time slowing down to 'find time' to read.  And because it's Pokémon it's suitable for younger children that read above grade level.

My own wishes would be that it was written at an easier level.  3rd Grade would be perfect.  I also wish more of the landscape was taken up with artwork, as that can be vital in keeping the attention of young readers.

Do recommend this one!  It would be good for school or home shelves.
