Sometimes we worry when we don't know what to expect and that's Wemberly's problem when it comes to school. She's not a mouse that enjoys new situations --she's something of an excessive worrier anyway-- so she wonders if her school room will smell and what will happen if no one else brings a doll, or wears stripes, or heaven forbid, she can't find the bathroom.

And that's why this book is so nice. Because we moms, dads, and/or teachers can sit with a child who might be a bit worried about their own upcoming school experience, and we can point out that Wemberly was worried for nothing. That once her day ended, she couldn't wait to go back the next day.

We can also point out all the fun things that there will be to do at preschool--like playing with toys, playing outside, and making music-- and basically, how everything will work out fine.

This book can be a little trickier to use with a child that's a 'real worrier', but you can do it if you point out that Wemberly was worried about the swingsets at the park too, and everything was fine.

A good read-aloud. Wemberly Worried can be used as a little biblio-therapy too!
