SNOWFLAKE BABY is
a cute boardbook that features a child and puppy playing in the snow.
The artwork by Cori Doerrfeld is in soft colors and compliments Elise
Broach's rhyming text.

Let's go play.
The pages themselves are sturdy and thick. The flaps are large making it easier for little fingers to grab, and they are made of what I call medium weight stock.
(Thick stock are those heavy duty cardboard flaps. Thin stock are
those that are paper thin and too light to hold up to continued use.
These are in between. A sort of medium stock made out of slick paper
that I don't believe will rip very easily.)

Besides the artwork and the text,
one of the things I like for this book is that there are many things to
point out to older babies and toddlers. There are colors -- yellow,
red, blue, green -- for example, and pieces of clothing -- hat, boots,
scarf. In addition there is a huge snowflake, trees, birds, sled,
bunny, squirrel, snowman and various other sorts of winter things.
The book ends with the toddler falling asleep, so Snowflake Baby can also be used as a bedtime read.
Good Read-aloud.
