Here's our list of "great reads" for Tweeners and Middle-Graders (younger teens/middle school). These books have more sophisticated stories, but have been screened for language or the sorts of adult themes that we-as-parents don't feel are appropriate for younger readers. (Concerned parents should always peruse volumes to see if they meet their standards.) They may contain some mild violence and scariness.
