Maisy Dresses Up is a cute book that begins with Maisy being invited to a costume party at Tallulah's. The idea of a party, particularly a costume party, is pretty interesting to most small fry, and from what I've seen this topic grabs their attention right away. Particularly after the author asks the question, "what will Maisy be?"

Maisy Dresses Up has the same bright colorful artwork that typifies this series for older babies, toddlers, and younger preschoolers.

The party theme will grab most children's attention, and Lucy Cousins does a particularly good job of building tension and excitement as she makes suggestions for what Maisy might be, only to take that option off the table because one of Maisy's friends --Charley or Eddie or Cyril -- is already dressing up as that.

Frugal mom's like myself, will like that Maisy doesn't buy an outfit, but makes her own disguise.
