Books of the Week - The Good, The Bad, The Ugly of Library Loot

Well, it is the end of the week again and I meant to get this list out promtly on Friday, but it being Memorial weekend there was so much to do and I'm running behind schedule.

Here's the goodies we gathered from the Library; the proverbial Library Loot that's hanging around our home. Hope this sparks a few library ideas for you.

The GOOD

Fancy Nancy: Explorer Extraordinaire / Jane O'connor
Night of the Veggie Monster / George McClements.
Oh, Theodore! : guinea pig poems / by Susan Katz
Pill bugs up close / Greg Pyers.
The race of the century / retold & illustrated by Barry Downard.
Susan B. Anthony / by Martha E.H. Rustad.

The Not So Good
Rolypolyology / by Michael Elsohn Ross
(unlike some of the other -ology books, we couldn't get into this one. May have been that this one was for older kids)

The Not Touched Yet
Guinea pigs far and near / by Kate Duke.
Susan B. Anthony : reformer / by Cynthia Klingel and Robert B. Noyed.
Through the animals' eyes : a story of the first Christmas / by Christopher Wormell.
Two-minute mysteries / by Donald J. Sobol.

The UGLY
(nothin' ugly this week)

In addition, Captain Underpants still reigns supreme with the kiddos.

If you are looking for some reading suggestions, you can check out our Books by AR Level lists (or even put AR numbers in the site search box. We use our own abbreviations. AR1 for first grade, AR2 for second grade and so forth.) There are also Library Lists on our Parents' Pages.

Soooo... what are your kids reading? I'd love to know.
